The annual spicy condiment and snack food competition. The Hot Pepper Awards is the only awards competition of its kind that does not allow artificial ingredients to be added! Only the best will be awarded The Hot Pepper Award.

Categories:

Top categories include Hot Sauce, BBQ Sauce, Salsa, Dry Spice (seasonings, rubs, mixes…), Condiment (ketchup, mustard, steak sauce…), Sweet Condiment (jelly, jam, honey…), Snack/Sweet (jerky, chips, candy…), Extreme Product, and Open Class (miscellaneous hot). There are many sub-categories under each category. Categories may be altered due to entries.

Awards:

The Hot Pepper Award is the overall top category award. There are also 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for sub-categories. Other awards include The Hybrid Pepper Award (innovation), The Picasso Pepper Award (labels/artwork), and The Offensive Pepper Award (most offensive product name).

Winners of The Hot Pepper Award will receive free advertising on thehotpepper.com. A 120×90 ad that rotates with the winners will appear on all pages in the header. The ad will remain live until it is replaced with the following year’s winners.

All Winners will receive a custom certificate that is perfect for framing as well as website and print quality graphics in an array of sizes. All Winners will be announced on thehotpepper.com, the most popular chilihead community on the Internet, and each listing will include a link to the winner’s website. We also submit press releases to news sites and blogs.

Welcome to the 2009 Scovie Awards Competition, the Official Contest of the Fiery Foods and Barbecue Industry.

The Scovie Awards Competition continues to grow in size, with more than 780 products entered in 60+ categories in 2008, including tasting and product marketing and advertising. This is your invitation to enter your products, ads, marketing materials and Web Sites in the 2009 Scovies. Launch your product into the future by promoting your product as a Scovie winner to buyers, distributors, retailers, and consumers! Entry deadline is September 5, 2008.

It happens all the time: manufacturers suddenly begin to get inquiries and orders from buyers they’ve never heard of before. When they ask how the buyer found out about their products, often the reply is: “We saw that you were a Scovie winner on the Fiery-Foods & Barbecue Super Site.” There are so many products available these days that buyers look for unique reasons to favor one brand over another and being a Scovie winner provides a unique distinction that sets your product apart from the others. Even if you’ve won in past Scovie competitions, there are always benefits to winning again. It is great being a past winner, but being a current winner is better.

The 21st Annual National Fiery Foods & Barbecue Show will be held February 27 to March 1, 2009 at the Sandia Resort and Casino Events Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The show promises to deliver more business and pleasure than ever.  This unique show attracts attendees from around the globe and more than 10,000 general public attendance.  Exhibitors in the show can take advantage of this opportunity to meet and greet new buyers, introduce their line of products or services, and reaffirm their commitment to their current customers who will be attending the show.

The National Fiery Foods & Barbecue Show is a unique business opportunity, providing both trade and consumer exposure. This show offers both volume selling to qualified wholesale buyers, as well as the chance to do market research, raise consumer awareness of your products, and to conduct retail sales during designated consumer hours.

In addition, there are numerous opportunities for media exposure. In previous years, all major network affiliate stations in the area attended the National Fiery Foods & Barbecue Show, interviewing manufacturers and videotaping dozens of products.
